First Lufthansa Jumbo lands at Munich Airport

In July 1970, Lufthansa's first jumbo landed at Munich Airport with a Boing 747. Munich Airport wasn't really geared towards such large visitors. So he writes Munich Mercury:

When Lufthansa first appeared in Riem on July 8, 1970 in a Boeing 747, the Munich-based company had to improvise because the airport was only partially suitable for jumbo jets. Two conventional passenger stairs are combined with a lifting platform.

The 747-130 D-ABYC (c / n 19748/44) “Bayern” had its first flight on 05/13/70 and was in August 1996 in Marana turned off and from then on scrapped. But they were still diving until 2008 individual parts on.
