Prvn\u00ed letoun vzl\u00e9tl a p\u0159ist\u00e1l na travnat\u00fdch ranvej\u00edch v Oberwiesenfeldu. Brzy se v\u0161ak uk\u00e1zalo, \u017ee toto leti\u0161t\u011b nebude dlouhodob\u011b spl\u0148ovat po\u017eadavky modern\u00edho letectv\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>V Riem, kter\u00e9 bylo t\u011b\u017ece po\u0161kozeno v\u00e1le\u010dn\u00fdmi lety, tak bylo vybudov\u00e1no modern\u00ed leti\u0161t\u011b, kter\u00e9 bylo po skon\u010den\u00ed v\u00e1lky rychle zrekonstruov\u00e1no. Do konce 60. let se modernizovan\u00e9 mnichovsk\u00e9 leti\u0161t\u011b rozrostlo tak, aby vyhovovalo po\u017eadavk\u016fm mnichovsk\u00e9ho leteck\u00e9ho provozu.<\/p>\n<p>Letn\u00ed olympijsk\u00e9 hry v roce 1972 a rostouc\u00ed popt\u00e1vka po z\u00e1jezdech nazna\u010dovaly, \u017ee leti\u0161t\u011b v Riem bude p\u0159\u00edli\u0161 mal\u00e9. Zpo\u010d\u00e1tku byly vypracov\u00e1ny pl\u00e1ny na dal\u0161\u00ed roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159en\u00ed leti\u0161t\u011b v Riem. Takzvan\u00e1 Oechsleova komise rychle dosp\u011bla k z\u00e1v\u011bru, \u017ee Riem nebude m\u00edt budoucnost, m\u00edsto toho se m\u00e1 pl\u00e1novat nov\u00e9 velk\u00e9 leti\u0161t\u011b mimo Mnichov. Pro Riem to znamenalo, \u017ee \u010das do dokon\u010den\u00ed nov\u00e9ho velk\u00e9ho mnichovsk\u00e9ho leti\u0161t\u011b byl v p\u0159\u00ed\u0161t\u00edch letech kompenzov\u00e1n narychlo realizovan\u00fdmi \u201ep\u0159eklenovac\u00edmi opat\u0159en\u00edmi\u201c, p\u0159i\u010dem\u017e z\u00e1rove\u0148 dramaticky vzrostla popt\u00e1vka po letov\u00fdch kapacit\u00e1ch. Tak\u017ee a\u017e do sam\u00e9ho konce muselo b\u00fdt leti\u0161t\u011b Riemer dr\u017eeno pohromad\u011b, a\u017e se nakonec v roce 1992 poda\u0159ilo \u201evykoupit\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Nov\u00e9 mnichovsk\u00e9 leti\u0161t\u011b v Erdinger Moos bylo sice ji\u017e velkoryse napl\u00e1nov\u00e1no, ale muselo b\u00fdt kv\u016fli ve\u0159ejn\u00fdm petic\u00edm vykastrov\u00e1no (nap\u0159. pouze 2 ranveje m\u00edsto 4), rozvoj tam u\u017e l\u00e9ta nestoj\u00ed.
